Embracing Nature's Symphony: Celebrating World Environment Day with Kalike

BY Kalike Education Trust

Kalike, our beloved educational institution known for its commitment to holistic education, embarked on a remarkable journey into the heart of biodiversity. On June 9th, a serene Sunday morning, students and faculty gathered at Kukrahalli Lake in Mysore to celebrate Environmental Day in a truly unique and enlightening manner.
The theme for this year's event was "Journey Through Nature," focusing on exploring the rich biodiversity surrounding Kukrahalli Lake. From herbs to towering trees, delicate lichens to vibrant mushrooms, and the melodious birds that call this ecosystem home, the day promised to be an immersive learning experience.

As the sun rose higher in the sky, students absorbed information about the ecological significance of the lake and its surrounding flora and fauna. The enthusiasm was palpable as they observed, listened, and engaged with the experts, asking questions that showcased their thirst for knowledge.

The event culminated at 8:00 AM with a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. In recognition of their invaluable contributions, the guest speakers were honored with Tulasi saplings and thoughtful gift bags by the Kalike team, symbolizing gratitude and a commitment to sustainability

To wrap up the morning on a refreshing note, students were treated to well-deserved refreshments, sharing laughter and reflections on their newfound understanding of the natural world.

In addition to the enriching experiences, students were presented with participation certificates, acknowledging their active involvement and eagerness to learn about biodiversity conservation. Through this celebration at Kukrahalli Lake, Kalike not only reinforced its dedication to academic excellence but also nurtured a deeper connection with our environment. The "Journey Through Nature" was not just an event, but a transformative experience that will resonate with participants for years to come.

As we reflect on this enriching day, let us carry forward the lessons learned about biodiversity, conservation, and our role as stewards of the Earth. Together, let's continue to explore, appreciate, and protect the natural wonders that surround us.
